When sitting upright the pelvis needs to be aligned vertically. This requires both mobility and stability of the hip joints, In Iyengar yoga, standing poses are initially used to systematically strengthen and tone this area while also developing freedom of movement. The more challenging sitting asanas are learnt next. They keep the spine steady, provide stability of the body, build inner strength and pacify the mind. In this workshop we look at how to prepare the hips and use props effectively to sit upright in various poses. This online workshop with Pascale Vacher is taking place online via Zoom. It is open to all Iyengar yoga students with at least one year of Iyengar yoga experience (or equivalent). Please ask if unsure..
