Professional Development Days are now called Exchange of Learning Days (ELDs). The day provides 5 hours of learning that count towards the 10 hours specialised training requirement for the 2024/25 teacher renewal, but the session is not assessed in any way. The event offers a great learning opportunity for all teachers and trainee teachers to share knowledge and experience in a friendly environment.
The SADIY Exchange of Learning Day (ELD) for IY (UK) teachers and trainees in 2024-25 will be led by Frances Homewood.
Date: Sunday 10 November 2024
Time: 10.00am to 4.00pm (including a short break for lunch)
Fees: £35 or £28 for SADIY members
Address: Sheffield Iyengar Yoga Centre, 270 Burgoyne Road, Sheffield, S6 3QF.
The theme is Yoga for all ages.
This Exchange of Learning session will focus on exploring the practice of Yoga throughout life, starting in childhood and going all the way to old age. Our aim is to discuss ways of working with students at all stages in their lives, taking into account the various issues that may arise on this journey. We will investigate teaching particular age groups, and take into consideration that many teachers have classes with a wide range of ages.The day is an in-person event this year.
The event is open to all IY(UK) teachers or trainee registered members. If there are places available, retired or ex-Iyengar teachers who are still IY(UK) members and who do not teach other styles of yoga will also be welcome.

Additional Information

All yoga equipment will be available at the centre.
Hot drinks will be provided during the break, but please bring your own cup and lunch.
If you need to stay overnight in Sheffield to attend this event please indicate this on the registration form and contact us as one of the local teachers may be able to help. Equally, if If you live locally and can offer a place to host a particpant overnight please let us know.

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel this workshop we will put a message on the website and, if you have booked in advance and provided contact details, we will try our best to contact you and give you a full refund. We cannot be liable for any additional expenses that you may have incurred as a result.
If you can no longer attend the workshop please email us hello@sheffieldyoga.org ASAP. SADIY will refund you (less a £5 administration charge) if notice of cancellation is received more than 10 days before the event. After that time, no refund will be given.
